What are the Learning Outcomes?
Participants will be able to:
1. Recognize your own symptoms of burnout, compassion fatigue and/or moral injury (and compare to symptoms of other participants that are willing to share).
2. List a four stage model of a burnout development.
3. Identify specific causes of burnout, compassion fatigue and moral injury.
4. Describe at least two of the unique challenges BIPOC clinicians in the US face with burnout and compassion fatigue.
5. Strategize personal prevention strategies and recovery interventions according to your life and work contexts.
Do you have a description of this webinar?
This online workshop is designed for individuals wanting to better understand their own current experiences of burnout, compassion fatigue, and/or moral injury as well as their risks for the future. We will pay particular attention to identifying your individual responsibility (for these injuries of burnout and compassion fatigue) while also exploring the realities of the larger systemic forces that contribute to burnout. You will have the opportunity to complete and interpret burnout and compassion fatigue self-assessments to understand the symptomology and also underlying causes of burnout, learn a model of burnout, and also explore prevention strategies and recovery interventions for therapists. Through the use of polling, Q and A, large group discussions and small group breakout discussions you will be encouraged to share pieces of your personal journey with burnout, compassion fatigue and or moral injury. Learning from this session will come through better understand your personal story within the context of the didactic presentations and the stories of other participants.
Can you tell me more about the presenter Nate?
Nate Page, PhD is a licensed psychologist and certified group psychotherapist who helps clinicians develop healthier relationships with themselves and with others. He has witnessed the damaging impact of injuries like burnout and compassion fatigue among far too many healthcare professionals and has dedicated a significant portion of his career to providing education and training on these topics. He facilitates 4 long-term online process groups for therapists from all over the world. He runs group therapy conferences, weekend group intensives and retreat programs for therapists.
